About Us:

make717 is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization in the heart of Lancaster County that provides access to a vast variety of equipment such as 3D Printers, laser cutters, a machine shop and more. make717 is what is commonly referred to as a makerspace or a hackerspace. make717 was founded on April 20, 2015 after starting as a local meetup space called Lancaster/Berks Makers that met at The Candy Factory. On October 2, 2015, make717 held its grand opening and were proud to announce that just 45 minutes earlier, had been accepted as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Since then, make717 has continued to expand and add new tools and opportunities to it's members. Since the grand opening in 2015, we have more than doubled our available space and continued to fill that space to the brim with new equipment. make717 has also continued to make the space more available to use by launching a program in conjunction with the Library System of Lancaster County called the STEM Pass program, offering a free way to access the space.
