Equipment Orientation: SawStop Table Saw

This introduction is designed for you to learn the basics of Sawstop, its safety features and how to use the tool in the Make717 space. This is not a class on using a tablesaw if you are not already familiar with doing so.  We anticipate a tablesaw basics class in the future so if you are interested in such a class let us know.

In this introduction we will discuss the various parts of the saw including the safety features. We will demonstrate how to use the blade guard and riving knife, how to change the blade and brake.  We will discuss how to leave the saw at the end of your work session and answer any questions you may have.

In order to register for the introduction you will first need to watch some videos and then take a short quiz.  You will then be given a code so you can register for the introduction.This class requires some homework to be accomplished before you can register.  

To attend, you must:

• Be a member in good standing or a STEMPass holder
• Bring in (or purchase on arrival at make717) safety glasses since we will be in a safety glasses-required room, and hearing protection
• Watch the videos referenced on the SawStop instructions web page below.!
• Complete the quiz that will give you the code needed to register
• Register for a class using the code emailed
