Planning Team Meeting - Open Forum

The make717 Planning Team would like to invite interested members to join our regular monthly  meeting for August.  On this particular occasion we will put aside our normal agenda and have an open forum discussion on the topic of makerspace layout and efficiency. 

The Planning Team started meeting in January 2024 with the goal of improving efficiency, processes and impact of the makerspace.  As part of those discussions it was determined that the existing ColLab room was underutilized in relation to the square footage it occupies.  Other parts of the makerspace are more commonly utilized and in some cases outgrowing their space.  The decision was made that we should work to turn the existing SoftGoods room back into a ColLab / meeting room, freeing the existing ColLab room to better serve the equipment space needs of the entire makerspace. Rather than just switch to two areas, we thought it best to take a holistic view of the entire makerspace and who could benefit the most from the freed space.

During this open forum meeting, we will look for input on what might be the best arrangement of equipment in the freed space and if any other equipment across the makerspace could better utilize that area.

Please register if you plan to attend.  We will be supplying pizza for the group and will want to have a firm count ahead of time.
