Wood Lathe

Orientation

• In-person orientation and certification is required before using the wood shop lathe

Purpose

• Make designs in rotating wood for things like table legs or other furniture

Warnings or Tips

• Don't wear loose clothing or jewelry
  • It can get caught up in rotating piece of wood and wrap up quickly, causing injury
• Wear a face shield (if the wood you're turning flies apart, you don't want it to hit you in the face)

Allowed Materials

• Solid wood only
